IABC taster session with Marbles Improv

Improv is a popular, spontaneous theatrical form wherein everything - characters, plotlines, dialogue - are created on the spot. This spontaneity allows for quirky moments, surprising discoveries, and moments of pure comedy.
However, theatre is really only one application of improv. The skills of improvisation are really advanced communication skills that often get missed in both personal and professional contexts. Training with Marbles Improv gives you the tools and soft skills you need to:

Enhance focus and listening skills
Communicate better
Increase resourcefulness and confidence
Develop your creativity

The focus of this 'taster' training session will be on how you can apply the improv skills and principles to your personal and professional development, something that is known as Applied Improvisation.

Ryan Millar is an improviser, writer, trainer, storyteller and comedian living and working in Amsterdam. He has almost twenty years experience teaching, training and performing improvisation, throughout North America and Europe.  He also has an MA in Professional Writing from London Metropolitan University, and a BA in Communications from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver Canada, where he’s from.

Kelly Agathos was introduced to the wonderful world of improvisation by Ryan Millar in 2010. Today, she is the driving force behind ATC Improv, Brussels’ first Anglophone improvisation society, for which she performs, hosts, teaches and organises workshops with well-known international guest improvisers. She is also the founder and artistic director of the ATC’s resident improv troupe, The Ghost Sheep, with whom she performs regularly both in Brussels and abroad.

Ryan and Kelly are both dedicated to bringing the benefits of Applied Improvisation to companies and individuals. Learn more at www.marblesimprov.com

Thanks to all who attended this evening, and biggest thanks to Kelly for a great explanation of the role of improv in communication. We enjoyed some excellent improv games and followed it with a good networking session.
