1. Lobbying doesn’t work - Steffen Thejll-Moller, Steffen – digital communications expert Fleishman Europe
In 2012, everything has become broader: the list of people who have a stake in policy, as well as the communications toolkit for reaching them. As a result, lobbying alone isn’t an effective tactic for influencing policy. So what is?
Steffen Thejll-Moller heads digital communication at Fleishman-Hillard in Brussels. He works across all practice groups, focusing on effective integration of government relations and online channels. He has developed and implemented digital campaigns and programmes for organisations from a range of sectors, as well as for politicians, political parties and think-tanks. Steffen blogs at steffenmoller.wordpress.com, focusing on the cross-section of digital, politics and communications. A Danish-Italian national, Steffen holds a degree from Oxford University
2. Do you need a social media strategy? By Radu Seuche, Learning and Leadership Development Director of Wide Circle
Earlier in 2012, IBM released its 2012 Global CEO Study, a work born from interviews with over 1700 CEOs worldwide. One of the study’s findings revealed that only 16% of CEOs currently participate in social media and for many CEOs, social media is also one of the least-utilized methods of customer engagement and for professional communicators this can be a real challenge.
During this presentation, we will demonstrate how this situation can be reframed to the professional communicators' advantage in an interactive, fun, fast and easy way. The presentation will be supported by a handout that will capture the main points and provide further references.
Radu Seuche is the Learning and Leadership Development Director of Wide Circle. Being part of Generation Y and having grown-up with social media, Radu delivers workshops all over Europe to enable communicators and organizational leaders get their vision and message across in the most effective way. He has recently returned from a trip to Georgia, Moldova and Switzerland where he organized workshops related to the use of social media in areas spanning from business growth and development to participation and democracy.
