We are pleased to invite you to the presentation of the Inside Insight 2016 Internal Communications Survey by VMA on Wednesday 28th September 2016 between 17:30 and 20:00 at UM Campus Brussels, Avenue de l’Armée / Legerlaan 10, 1040 Brussels.
VMA realised its first dedicated communications market survey focused on Europe, Inside Insight 2016. This piece of research conducted earlier this year delivers a challenging perspective of the internal communications (IC) market. We will discuss the findings together with Heads of Internal Communications.
Discussion led by Willem de Ruijter, Executive Director Europe, VMA Group
Often internal communications (IC) professionals are seen as a subcategory of corporate communications, or HR communications, or worst, marketing communications. As budgets crunch, money goes to digital communication, we wonder if IC is ready to adapt? Is it surfing the wave or trying to defend its ‘piece of the pie’ when at the end of the day, internal stakeholders are ‘just another audience’? Will a proper internal communications function even exist five years from now? Or will it disappear in new structural matrixes in between content and channel communications?
The European VMA Internal Communications Market Survey reveals some important trends within the IC profession. The report provides interesting insight and analysis, not least that over 50% of respondents to our survey have nine years of experience or more, meaning IC can no longer be defined as a “new” discipline. This is important since the shift in the communications function in many companies towards integrated approaches needs mature input regarding the internal communications essentials.
Thanks to all those that participated in the survey. We do look forward to discussing this with you on September 28th.
