Why did I start this group?

"As a professional communicator, I went for the training with the idea to learn techniques to communicate better, and I had so much more than that!!! It's simply amazing. This training is definitely worth the investment, it's something for a life time." ~ Coralia Catana, European Economic and Social Committee

Through our series of NLP-based seminars you get an opportunity to explore your own communication style and enhance your existing communication skills, whether as a presenter, writer, leader, trainer, manager, advisor, coach, parent...

NLP enables people to communicate effectively, whatever the context. Being able to communicate effectively builds lasting relationships and good relationships get things done!

What is NLP?

Its origins are in the modeling of excellence. Back in the 70s at the University of Santa Cruz its creators, Dr Richard Bandler and Dr John Grinder, asked a simple question: "What is the difference that makes the difference?".

They studied a wide range of people, starting with therapists who helped people get amazing results in their lives and went on to study entrepreneurs, leaders, people who could spell well, people who were good at languages, and the list goes on....

They found a common element: all these people demonstrated excellent communication skills. They modeled these skills and they are now taught as a core part of NLP.

As professional communicators I believe that we should be aware of these skills and ultimately acquire and master them.

Positive communication is good for us...

NLP (NeuroLinguistic Programming) is a powerful technology that when used ecologically literally enables you to transform your life: you get more freedom, balance and choice. You have more fun!

Not only do you begin to create more of what you want in your life, you also have the tools to enable others to do the same.

I believe everyone should know this stuff!

You will be more content, have fantastic relationships and the planet will be a better place as a result.

Who is it for?

The group is for anyone interested in developing their existing communication skills and discovering more about NLP (NeuroLinguistic Programming) along the way. You may already have had some experience of it and this may be good or not as good as you would like it to be. You may simply have heard people talking enthusiastically about NLP and want to discover what all the hype is about. You may never have heard of NLP, are struggling to pronounce it and still massively curious...!

What is our purpose?

Practice makes perfect and you must practice the correct things...

Communication Mastery takes time.

NLP is a discipline based on practices. This is reflected in the various levels of qualifications you can achieve. Whilst NLP institutes offer introductory and foundation courses, the first level of skills acquisition comes with being awarded a Practitioner certificate.

As is implicit in this word, it is about being a practitioner and to be a good practitioner you need to practice.

My aim in setting up this group is to raise awareness of NLP as the most powerful communication toolkit there is and explain more about how it works.

Face-to-face seminars
To complement this we provide a fun place in the center of Brussels to experience & practice NLP and share your learnings, discoveries and questions. These seminars are open to all levels of professional communicators: beginners, practitioners, master practitioners, coaches & trainers.

What sorts of recurring 'problems' do you encounter as a communicator? Have you ever wondered how you can dissolve them easily?

To complement this I aim to provide a place to experience & practice NLP and share your learnings, discoveries and questions. I plan to do this through a combination of introductory seminars and practice groups that will be open to all levels: beginners, practitioners, master practitioners, coaches & trainers.

Next steps
I will introduce some additional information over the course of the next few days and encourage some discussion around your awareness, perceptions, experiences of NLP itself and perhaps some of the typical "communication problems" that a knowledge of NLP would enable you to solve, quickly, gracefully and effectively.

So, by all means, please start the discussion now and invite your friends to join us!
